House Fire in The South Belt / Ellington Area

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a 1-story home fully engulfed in flames on one side and a primary search was not initially possible. A resident had been grilling and noticed the fire. He jumped out of a window and sustained an injury and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. A firefighter injured his foot and was also transported to the hospital. The fire was extinguished and crews conducted salvage and overhaul. Firefighters from Stations 23, 71, 52, 61, 70 and 93 responded to this incident.
