Electrical malfunction
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Crews from Engine 67 arrived on scene to light smoke coming from a one story residence and deployed a handline for fire attack. Crews found heavy, dark smoke coming from a bedroom while searching for source of smoke and quickly attacked the fire. Ceiling was opened to ensure no further extension. Ladder 31 assisted with ventilating the roof. Ladder 67 conducted primary and secondary searches with no victims found. Engine 74 secured utilities. Homeowner stated she plugged in a space heater shortly before seeing fire and smoke coming from outlet. Utility companies were contacted and homeowner was advised not to turn on any power until cleared by utility experts. No injuries reported.
