House Fire in The Greater Uptown Area

October 2, 2019 at 1:44 a.m.

5200 block of Cheapeake Way, 77056
INJURIES:
One firefighter transported to the hospital for back pain
PROPERTY SAVED:

DAMAGE:
$160 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled accidental by HFD Arson investigators
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a residential garage fully involved with fire with two vehicles inside. The fire was encroaching a power line and nearby structure. The crews forced entry and attacked the fire while protecting the nearby structure. A primary and secondary search were completed and the fire was tapped out. The utilities were secured and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. One firefighter was transported to the hospital for back pain. Crews from Stations 28, 2, 68, 3, 38, 60 and 57 responded to this incident.
