Firefighters arrived on scene with heavy smoke coming from a one-story house. They made an offensive attack through the front door and ventilated the roof. The fire was extinguished and crews conducted salvage and overhaul. The occupant said they had been cooking and became distracted when they smelled smoke and returned to the kitchen to find a fire that had extended into the attic. Firefighters from Stations 26, 23, 46, 35, 36, 40 and 24 responded to this incident.
