House Fire in The Eldridge / West Oaks Area

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire in the kitchen and attic of a home and extinguished the fire. They checked for extension with a thermal imaging camera and completed overhaul. The resident stated that the fire had started as a grease fire and spread to the cabinets. A smoke alarm had alerted the residents to the fire and they safely evacuated the home. The residents were advised to have an electrician inspect the home before the power was restored. Crews from Stations 78, 75, 76, 83 and 57 responded to this incident.
