House Fire in Southeast Houston - Firefighters Rescue Two Cats
WHAT:
House Fire
WHEN:
April 11, 2018 at 4:21 p.m. 
WHERE:
10600 block of Thornlea Dr, 77089
INJURIES:
No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:
Fire was contained to the kitchen area, with estimated $70 thousand in saved property.
DAMAGE:
$55 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
Cooking grease splashed and caught fire.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a one-story home with the residents already outside. There were several pets reported to still be inside the home and the crew of Engine 61 found two cats during a primary search. The cats had labored breathing but were successfully resuscitate by the crew of Medic 36. The fire was tapped out with crews from Stations 52, 61 and 70 responding.
