Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the front door and windows of a one-story house. The crew of Engine 34 made an offensive attack on the fire while firefighters from Ladder 56 conducted a primary search of the home and the Ladder 34 crew performed ventilation operations.
The fire was tapped out in less than 10 minutes and crews remained on scene for cleanup and overhaul operations.
The Houston Police Department removed an arson suspect from the residence and HFD arson investigators ruled the cause of the fire was incendiary with multiple areas of fire origin found.
