2-Alarm House Fire in Neartown - Montrose Area

2-Alarm House Fire

DAMAGE:
$750 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with smoke coming from the third and forth floor of a 4-story house. Crews began an attack and protected nearby structures from the fire. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire from the interior and conducted a primary search. Additional units were requested due to difficulty in exposing all of the concealed fire and to rotate crews. A HFD Decon unit set up a tent to provide shelter for the firefighters during the heavy rain. The fire was declared under control and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 8, 2, 15, 6, 19, 28, 17, 3, 7, 9, 11, 12, 16, 18, 25, 36, 37, 41, 62, 33,  30 Rescue 42, Rehab, and Hazmat responded to this incident.
