House Fire in Independence Heights Area

Firefighters kept fire from spreading past area of origin.

Unintentional – discarded cigarette.

|
|
Firefighters from Station 31 arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from a small one-story home. Firefighters began to attack the fire and search for the reported occupant still inside the home. The occupant was okay. A small fire in the hallway was located and quickly extinguished. It was determined the occupant had discarded a cigarette which smoldered and ignited several items. There was no fire extension to the attic area.
