House Fire in Independence Heights Area

Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming through the roof of a home that had been converted to a duplex. The resident stated everyone was safely outside the residence and firefighters worked to extinguish the fire. The fire began a water heater closet and burned through the ceiling and roof. The power and gas company were notified to disconnect the utilities and firefighters conducted salvage and overhaul. Crews from Stations 15, 31, 34, 30, 58 and 67 responded to this incident.
