2- Alarm House Fire in Afton Oaks / River Oaks Area

The cause was ruled as accidental by HFD Arson investigators
|
|
|
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the first floor of a 2-story house. They entered the home and found zero visibility on the first floor and high heat on the second floor. Crews worked to locate the fire as a firefighter became entangled and a Mayday was requested. Firefighters were able to untangle him and safely exit the home. The fire was located in the ceiling of the home and due to the conditions, an arial ladder was used to extinguish the rest of the fire. A firefighter was transported to the hospital for possible heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation and as of this afternoon has been released from the hospital. The fire was tapped out at 11:34 p.m. with crews from Stations 8, 3, 9, 11, 21, 25, 37, 62, 15, 30, Hazmat and Rescue 10 responded to this incident.
