To increase communications with members during times of disaster is the Houston Fire Department will begin leveraging the use of the employee alert system through the Everbridge System. The system has the ability to distribute information via text message, automated voice message, and email. This will be the method used to contact members for rapid distribution of critical information such as during a natural disaster.
"The Everbridge system will allow us to utilize modern technology & communications platforms to deliver critical, time-sensitive information to our members in the event of a natural or man-made disaster which will enhance our ability to serve the citizens,” said HFD Executive Assistant Fire Chief Richard Mann.
