Apartment Fire in Southwest Houston
WHAT:
Apartment Fire in Southwest Houston with one citizen transported to the hospital.
WHEN:
October 24, 2017 at 12:08 a.m.
WHERE:
10801 Westpark Drive, 77042
INJURIES:
One citizen was transported for smoke inhalation.
DAMAGE:
Damaged estimated at $45,000.
CAUSE:
HFD Arson Investigators ruled the cause of the fire as incendiary.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters from Station 83 were dispatched to investigate an alarm at an apartment building and upon arrival found residents outside the building with the alarm sounding. Upon investigation, firefighters discovered smoke in one unit with a resident trapped on his balcony. They rescued the occupant and reported a small, mostly extinguished sprinkler controlled fire inside a unit. A primary and secondary search were completed.

Red Cross was requested for approximately five displaced occupants and the property manager was on scene.
