Cardiac Arrest Survivor Reunion
WHAT:
A cardiac arrest survivor will thank those who helped to save her life while she was waiting to board a flight at Bush IAH.
WHEN:
Today, April 27, 2017 at 1 p.m.
WHERE:
Terminal B - Bush Intercontinental Airport Lobby
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Mrs. Maribeth Breedlove and her daughter, Becky, were sitting at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in March, ready to board a flight for a vacation.  Her daughter Becky said her Mom suddenly slumped over and stopped breathing.  Becky called out to the crowd “I need help for a medical emergency!”

Many bystanders came to help: United Airlines’ employees placed emergency calls to 9-1-1; Houston Fire Department crews were dispatched, while good Samaritans went into action and performed CPR.

Houston Police officers brought a Public Access Defibrillator and Mrs. Breedlove received several shocks.  HFD crews from MS92D, Engine and Medic 63D arrived and continued CPR and provided advanced life support.

Mrs. Breedlove regained pulses and was breathing on her own enroute to the hospital!  Maribeth has since fully recovered and returned home to her husband of 53 years in Tyler, Texas.

She is in Houston today with her family to thank all the heroes that contributed to her Chain of Survival.
