Grocery Store Fire in Neartown - Montrose Area
WHAT:
Grocery store fire
WHEN:
April 25, 2019 at 7:46 p.m.
WHERE:
1701 W. Alabama, 77098
INJURIES:
No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:
Not available
DAMAGE:
$27,500 in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled as accidental by HFD Arson investigators.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with no signs of fire or smoke from a grocery store. Upon investigation, a fire was found in a fish case. The crews extinguished the fire and used fans to ventilate the store. A food inspector was requested and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 6, 8, 7 and 16 responded to this incident.
