Dumpster Fire at High School in Neartown - Montrose Area

Dumpster Fire at School

DAMAGE:
$5 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as incendiary.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a dumpster fully involved with fire and extending into a high school building. They worked to extinguish the dumpster fire and forced entry into the building. The fire was knocked down and crews checked for extension of fire into the building. There was  smoke found on the first floor and firefighters ventilated it with fans. A primary search was completed and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire.  Crews from Stations 2, 6, 28, 3, 7 and 16 responded to this incident.
