Concession Area Fire at Minute Maid Park Stadium

Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from an open concession counter on the main floor of Minute Maid Stadium. Two sprinkler heads were dispersing water on a deep-frying unit which had caught fire. Once the fire was extinguished portable fans were used to ventilate the smoke. No extension was found in the ceiling or walls. Stadium personal reported that although no one had been using the fryer, it had been serviced earlier that day. Firefighters from Station 17 responded to this incident.
