Building Fire in Sharpstown Area

INJURIES:
No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED:
More than $14 million in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE:
$600 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene of a reported "water flow alarm" and were met by security who stated they had black smoke and heat on the second floor of the building. Crews encountered smoke and a water from a sprinkler. A sprinkler head had controlled a small fire in a beauty salon. A primary search was completed and the utilities were secured. The fire damage was small, however their was considerable water damage to approximately 30 individual suites. The sprinkler company was on location and replaced the sprinkler head. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 51, 68, 2, 28, 10, 60, 82, 57 and Rescue 10 responded to this incident.
