Multiple Building Fires in Neartown – Montrose Area of Houston

Building Fires

PROPERTY SAVED:
$358,552 in estimated property saved
DAMAGE:
$200 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The cause is under investigation by HFD Arson
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire coming from a one-story residence. The crews began attacking the fire and reported a large 2-story addition on the side was heavily involved with fire. The 2-story structure was structurally compromised. Shortly after the initial operations it was decided to go to defensive attack mode on the main fire building and a second alarm was requested. Primary searches were completed with no one found. HFD Arson was requested to determine the cause and origin.  The fire was controlled and the last unit cleared the scene at 9:14 a.m.

Firefighters from Stations 16, 6, 19, 28, 3, 8, 9, 15, 17, 25, Hazmat, 7, 33, 37 and 30 responded to this incident.
