Building Collapse in Northside / Northline Area
WHAT:
Building Collapse
WHEN:
February 11, 2019 at 12:50 p.m.
WHERE:
7309 Fulton St. 77022
INJURIES:
One civilian injured (person was in a vehicle), transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED:
Not available
DAMAGE:
$40 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
Building deterioration, structure hit by debris
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with a medium sized building collapse. A surface search was completed and crews forced entry and searched the inside of the non-collapse portions of the building. A HFD Rescue team performed a camera search of the collapse portions. The power company was notified due to a hanging power line and a collapse zone was established. The Office of Emergency Management was contacted for demolition and HFD Arson investigators were requested to document the scene. Firefighters from Stations 6, 34, 9, 13, 30, 31, 15 and Rescue 42 responded to this incident.
