Firefighters arrived on scene and found light smoke coming from a second-story apartment unit. Upon checking the utilities, it was discovered the breaker boxes were sparking and fire was found traveling in the walls and truss floor between the first and second levels.
Eight apartment units suffered from damage by fire in the walls and floors and significant smoke extension. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the residents. The fire was declared under control and the last HFD unit cleared the scene at 10:49 p.m. Firefighters from Stations 10, 2, 68, 83, 51, 73, 76, 69, 10, 8, and 57 responded to the incident.
