Apartment Fire in The Westwood Area

Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from an apartment and a citizen hanging out of a unit. The crew of Ambulance 73 were able to rescue the citizen. At least eight other residents safely made it outside after being alerted by their smoke detectors. The fire was found and extinguished in the kitchen area. The occupant stated they had been having issues with the stove. The American Red Cross was requested and one individual was evaluated on scene by HFD EMS. Crews from Stations 73, 82, 68, 83, 10, 51, 57 and Rescue 10 responded to this incident.
