Apartment Fire in the Greater Heights Area

1 firefighter transported to the hospital for heat exhaustion.

Multiple units were damaged.

The cause was ruled as accidental by HFD Arson Investigators.
|
|
Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building. A working fire was found in a downstairs apartment. While firefighters attempted to extinguish the fire, crews were ventilating the roof. A primary and secondary search were done on both first and second floors of the building with no victims found.
The fire was tapped out at 3:24 a.m. and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the displaced families. Firefighters from Stations 15, 6, 8, 62, 16, 9 and 11 responded to this incident.
