Apartment Fire in The Greater Greenspoint Area

Firefighters arrived on scene with fire coming from the door of a second floor of an apartment unit. Although the small unit was fully involved with fire crews were able to quickly extinguish it. No fire extension was found in the neighboring units or the attic. A primary search was also completed with no one found. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and determined the fire originated in the kitchen near the cooking vent fan above the stove. The apartment manager made temporary arrangements for the tenants affected by the fire. The electric company disconnected the power to the building as well. Firefighters from Stations 31, 64, 58, 67, 84 and 30 responded to this incident.
