Apartment Fire in the Alief Area

Act of nature – lighting strike
|

|
Firefighters arrived on scene and found a small amount of fire coming from the roof of a 2-story apartment building. They began an attack on the fire and conducted primary searches of the building and nearby buildings. The fire was extinguished with no smoke or fire damage beyond the area of origin. Two units received damage from the crews gaining attic access. Building maintenance was on scene and the American Red Cross was notified. It appeared that the fire was caused by a lightning strike. Firefighters from Stations 10, 73, 76 and 68 responded to this incident.
