Firefighters arrived on scene and found heavy smoke coming from the second floor of an apartment building. They began an attack on the fire, checked for extension to other units and conducted a primary search. The crews extinguished the fire with minimal fire extension to a nearby unit. Several first-floor units also had some smoke damage. Firefighters from Stations 15, 83, 10, 51, 60, 68, and 82 responded to this incident.
