The cause was ruled accidental by HFD Arson Investigators.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building. They began an attack on the fire and performed vertical ventilation. The fire as discovered on the first floor of a 2-story apartment. Firefighters checked for extension and found none. Crews also searched for possible victims and assisted with salvage and overhaul. One firefighter was slightly injured when debris struck him on the shoulder. He was examined on scene and was not transported to the hospital. Firefighters from Stations 15, 6, 8, 46, 7, 9, 16 and 30 responded to this incident.
