Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the first floor of a 2-story apartment building. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The fire appeared to have strated in the kitchen area in a vacant apartment. There was smoke damage to four units and fire damage to one unit. Crews from Stations 48, 68, 2, 21, 51, 82, 37 and 24 responded to this incident.
