|
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from an apartment building and heavy smoke conditions inside a first-floor apartment unit. The fire was found in the ceiling and firefighters pulled the sheetrock and extinguished it. They checked for extension and conducted a primary search. A large bundle of electrical wiring running above the ceiling in between the ceiling and second level floor was burned with bare wires exposed. The fire extended to the structural members next to the wire. Overhaul and salvage was completed and HFD notified the property manager and maintenance personal for the power to be turned off. Crews from Stations 36, 20, 23, 26, 29 and 36 responded to this incident.
