Apartment Fire in Eastex - Jensen Area
WHAT:
Apartment Fire

INJURIES:
1 Firefighter transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation
PROPERTY SAVED:
$20 thousand in estimated property saved
DAMAGE:
$7 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled as incendiary by HFD Arson investigators
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with smoke coming from the front door of a duplex style apartment and made an offensive attack. The unit was ventilated and a primary search was conducted. Crews extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to other areas of the unit. There was also no extension into the attic. One civilian was treated on scene and a firefighter was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 30, 19, 12, 15, 39 and 34 responded to this incident.
