Apartment Fire in Briar Forest Area

1 Firefighter transported to the hospital for becoming overheated

CAUSE:
HFD Arson Investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the second story of a 2-story apartment building. They began an attack of the fire through the front door of the apartment on fire. The crews encountered high heat and no visibility with the fire in the back bedroom of the unit. A second alarm was requested at and the fire was controlled. The Houston Police Department was requested for traffic control. Firefighters assisted with salvage and overhaul and The American Red Cross was requested to assist the residents. Crews from Stations 69, 6, 28, 68, 78, 57, 60, 73, 75, 82, 83, 86, 76, 78, 24 and 33 responded to this incident.
