Apartment Fire in Briar Forest Area

Firefighters arrived on scene and found a small fire in the kitchen of an apartment unit. The fire was contained to the cooktop area with no extension found. Crews extinguished the fire and conducted a primary search. They ventilated the smoke from the unit and conducted salvage and overhaul, turning the unit back over to the occupant. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced resident. Firefighters from Stations 69, 2, 78, 83, 57 and 75 responded to this incident.
