Apartment Fire in Alief Area of Southwest Houston

Firefighters arrived to find light smoke coming from a second floor apartment unit. There were reports of a person still inside the unit, however it was determined the resident had safely exited the apartment prior to HFDs arrival. A small kitchen fire was found and quickly controlled. Firefighters also ventilated the smoke from the apartment amd removed cabinet and ceiling in the kitchen and found no extension of the fire. Crews from Stations 68 and 73 responded to the incident.
