It was just before midnight on July 24th when crews responded to a fire at a garage apartment in the 8,000 block of Conger. Fire was showing from the windows of the apartment. Crews put out the fire and performed a search. The occupant of the apartment was not home and no one else was found inside. The fire was reported by a nine-year-old girl from the house in front of the garage apartment. She told crews she saw fire coming from a window unit and called for help. Houston arson was called in to investigate.
