2-Alarm Senior Living Community Building Fire in Greater Uptown
WHAT:
Senior Living Community Building Fire
WHEN:
November 4, 2018 at 1:18 a.m.
WHERE:
2929 Post Oak Blvd, 77056
INJURIES:
No reported injuries
PROPERTY SAVED:
Firefighters prevented fire spread to the building.
DAMAGE:
$53 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
Ruled accidental by HFD Arson investigators.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene with report of smoke in the lobby of a senior living facility. A second alarm was requested and crews investigated the parking garage and found an electrical panel on fire. The smoke had extended into the living area and filled the first three floors of the building. 14 people were evacuated outside were HFD had two Metro buses staged. The crews cleared the building and the smoke, allowing the residences back into the building. Firefighters from Stations 2, 28, 16, 6, 8, 21, 68, 83, 3, 7, 11, 17, 33, 37, 38, 51, 8, 24, 57 and Hazmat and Rescue responded to this incident.
