Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the second floor of a small home and made an offensive attack. Crews entered the home and conducted a primary search. They worked to extinguish the fire on the second floor and drywall fell and split the crew up. A mayday was called when a firefighter became lost due to the smoke. He reported glass breaking and after being told to go towards the sound, was assisted out of a window by fellow crews. Operations were switched to defensive mode and a deck gun was used for fire control. HPD was requested for traffic control and the American Red Cross was notified. The fire was tapped out at 2:06 a.m. with firefighters from Stations 2, 15, 5, 31, 13, 50, 58, 67, 4, 6, 8, 30 and Heavy Rescue 11 responding to this incident.
