2-Alarm Building Fire in Lawndale / Wayside Area of Houston
WHAT:
2-Alarm Building Fire
WHEN:
September 3, 2018 at 12:50 p.m.

INJURIES:
1 firefighter transported for chemicals in eye
PROPERTY SAVED:
$190 thousand in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE:
$20 thousand in estimated damage.
CAUSE:
Unintentional - Electrical
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 3-story building reported as a "chrome shop". A working fire was found and the fire was upgraded to a second alarm at 1 p.m.

HFD Hazmat was on standby at the scene and it was determined there was no hazardous materials involved.   HPD was requested for traffic control and the fire was tapped out at 1:18 p.m.

One firefighter had chemical go into his eye and was transported to the hospital but remained on duty.  Firefighters from Stations 30, 15, 18, 17, 23, 20, 26, 8, 7, 25, 40, 11, 19, Rescue and Hazmat responded to this incident.
