2-Alarm Apartment Fire in The Meyerland Area

2-Alarm Apartment Fire
WHEN:

No reported injuries
PROPERTY SAVED:
$300 thousand in estimated property saved
DAMAGE:
$200 thousand in estimated damage
CAUSE:
The cause was ruled accidental by HFD Arson investigators
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from the balcony area of an apartment. A primary search was completed while crews battled the fire. A second alarm was requested due to fire in the attic area. The fire was controlled and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The building contained five occupied units and seven vacant units. The manager was notified as well as the American Red Cross. Firefighters from Stations 48, 82, 16, 2, 21, 28, 59, 68, 10, 37, 51, 60, 73, 82, 28, 8, 24, 57, Rescue 10 and Hazmat responded to this incident.
