Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the roof a 2-story apartment building and began an offensive attack. A second alarm was requested due to the amount of fire and percent of involvement. Victims were spotted on the second floor and crews began rescue efforts. The residents were able to self-evacuate, however one of the individuals was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A primary search was completed on the first and second floors as crews worked to attack the fire and ventilate the roof. They pulled ceiling and worked to extinguish the fire. During the fire attack efforts one firefighter was treated on scene for possible heat exhaustion and dehydration, and transported to the hospital as a precaution. The fire was controlled with firefighters from Stations 40, 20, 26, 46, 70, 71, 35, 36, 42, 52, 93, 18, 29, 55, 8, Rescue 42, 17, 37 and 57 responded to this incident.
