Results From Democracy Corps Survey in Presidential and Senate Battleground

Washington, DC, March 20, 2020 – In a direct matchup against President Donald J. Trump, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden wins the Electoral College, according to an exclusive new survey sponsored by the non-partisan and non-profit Center for Voter Information (CVI) and conducted by Democracy Corps. In the survey, conducted March 9-16, 2020, during the height of the coronavirus epidemic, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) loses in a head-to-head race with President Trump.

In a general election against Trump, Biden wins by 4 points, 49 to 45 percent — a 5-point swing from 2016 in the battleground states. Biden also wins by 5 points when third-party voters choose, the survey reveals. Sanders, however, loses a general election against Trump by 1 point in the battleground states, matching Hillary Clinton’s performance in 2016.
