Earth HQ was the launched a major journalistic and advocacy channel called NowThis Earth in September 2020.  The goal is to inform and mobilize this global millennial and Gen Z audience on actions to restabilize the planet. This youth audience is considered crucial to our GCA mission because of their size, influence, and activism. 
 
New Earth HQ TV series, Action Planet

New TV Series and Climate Special produced for NowThis Earth 

“Action Planet,” a New Series Featuring Rapper 'Common', Jane Fonda, Matt Damon, Adrian Grenier, & More Launches April 22 On Discovery+ And NowThis Digital Channels

Action Planet explores the efforts of some of the world’s most well-known figures who are stepping up to make a difference in the battle for a safe and just corridor for humanity, and inspiring others to do the same. From Oscar-winning actors to legendary hip-hop artists, everyone has a part to play in keeping our global commons bountiful and resilient for future generations, but it requires more than words. It requires action. 

Earth Day Event: NowThis Earth Television Special - 'Meeting the Climate Challenge' 
Featuring exclusive interviews with key Biden Administration officials including Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland, Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy, the special will examine the intersection of climate across four areas: public health, environmental justice, green economy and jobs, and national security. The special also includes exclusive interviews with Global Commons Alliance scientists Johan Rockstrom and Sweta Chakraborty. NowThis has partnered with Discovery on the special, and it will be distributed globally across all NowThis digital channels, as well as Discovery's streaming service Discovery+ and their linear channels of Discovery and Science channel. 


NowThis Earth's latest viral hit  - a visualisation of how shipping disrupts a foraging blue whale in the eastern south Pacific. The story, which has had over 3.7M views so far, is just one more example of how our global commons are impacted by human activity.
