In the Law Enforcement Take with Harry Markley, you will get an insider's look at how FirstNet and other technologies help officers with their operations.
The First Responder Network Authority, or the FirstNet Authority, is an independent agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) that oversees FirstNet, the nation’s communications network dedicated to emergency responders and the public safety community.
FirstNet is built for public safety by public safety. The legislation creating our agency resulted from public safety’s diligent advocacy for a better communications network. Today we work hand-in-hand with public safety from every discipline in each of the 50 states, five territories, and the District of Columbia to ensure public safety’s voice is represented in the buildout and evolution of the FirstNet network.

Millions of responders bravely serve their communities every day. Today, first responders use the network to enhance situational awareness, ensure coordinated response across multiple departments, agencies or jurisdictions; securely share and exchange mission critical information; and power apps and devices that deliver actionable data.
