Shabbat 8/24/24 and the Son of God
Shalom brothers and sisters,
We’re in John 11 this week for study, which is about the death and resurrection of Lazarus. This means we’ll be talking about, well, death… and resurrection! Another topic that seems to pop up every six months or so is the identity of Jesus, aka Yeshua. This topic is the most important of our faith. Nothing even comes in second. And this one is not subject to opinions, like the calendar or pronunciations. This one is the foundation of our faith.
The knowledge that grants eternal life is accepting Yeshua as the Messiah, the Son of God. God’s Name is YHVH, commonly pronounced Yahweh. The entire bible is about this story, that God gave His Son that whoever believes in the Son will not perish but have everlasting life. This concept is true and simple. It’s not complex in the least and is the foundation of the New Covenant. One does not need any knowledge of foreign languages to comprehend this. Yahweh sent Yeshua into the world, Yeshua came voluntarily, lived a sinless life, was executed unjustly, and was resurrected by Yahweh. 40 days later He ascended to sit at the right hand of His Father.
Any doctrine or teaching that puts this information into question is anti-Messiah. Unfortunately, many of us have seen the work of the anti-Messiah. Those who entertain the notion that Yeshua and Yahweh are the same being will sometimes go on to reject Paul, then the New Testament, then the New Covenant altogether.
You all know I speak on this in detail pretty often. This week I put together a 13 minute video to really slam home the point of Yeshua being the Son of Yahweh. This message is meant to provide a quick and irrefutable proof that Yeshua is the Son of God. I hope you find this message edifying and will share it to help keep the brethren grounded.
