Finlandia University is thrilled to announce that Bishop Katherine A. Finegan, bishop of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Northern Great Lakes Synod, will be the 2019 commencement ceremony speaker.

Haley Makela named 2019 Student Representative

Finlandia University’s 2019 graduating class will hear from marketing major Haley Makela during this year’s commencement ceremony as the local student was selected as Student Representative. Makela has succeeded in and out of the classroom, all while being a dual-sport athlete in basketball and soccer.

Laplander ('12) named President-Elect of Michigan College Access Programs and Personnel

Laplander will serve a three-year term, going from President-Elect to President to Immediate Past President. During her first year she will chair MI-CAPP’s membership and professional development committees, chair MI-CAPP’s annual Spring Professional Conference in April and go to Washington D.C. to speak with Michigan congress members on behalf of our programs.
