Welcome to the January 2019 edition of Sajid Javid MP's newsletter
WELCOME
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

I’d also like to wish you a peaceful and prosperous New Year. The start of the New Year is a time in which we reflect on the past and look forward to the months ahead.

For those of you looking for new opportunities, I am delighted to be holding my 5th Annual Jobs Fair in the spring. The event will bring together a wide range of local businesses with people looking for a new job or career change.

I realise that applying for a new job can be intimidating, which is why my Jobs Fair will give you the chance to speak face-to-face with employers, get top tips on your CV and learn how to ace the interview. I would be delighted to see you there and more details will follow in the coming months.

Whatever 2019 brings, please remember that I’m always here if you need my help. You can get in touch with my office via sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk

Happy New Year.

Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove
RECENT ACTIVITY
I had a great time visiting the family-run Hoiti Toiti toy shop & other local businesses nearby.

These businesses have teamed up together to sponsor three pupils from North Bromsgrove High School, who are heading to Peru to help build a new school.

This really is community spirit at it’s finest.

Good luck you three, and thank you to all of the generous local businesses for getting involved.
I was delighted to attend the Bromsgrove and Redditch networking lunch with our neighbour, Rachel Maclean MP.  It was great to see so many local business owners there.

We heard from small business, serving police, and from a major retailer about the crucially important community schemes that are available for youngsters in our region.

I look forward to the next one!

It was a pleasure to attend the Pedmore Sporting Club lunch at Hagley Hall recently alongside the PSC’s patrons Lord and Lady Cobham.

A highlight of the day was when PSC President, Jon Bellfield handed over a donation of £2,000 to the Norton Collection Museum (Bromsgrove Museum).

Pedmore Sporting Club, which was founded in 1970 and has over 100 members across the West Midlands does brilliant work to raise funds for local charitable causes.

During the past 48 years the group has raised and donated £1.5 million to local worthy causes.

Thank you for everything that you do.

It's always helpful to meet with the Leader of Worcestershire County Council, Simon Geraghty and the CEO, Paul Robinson. We discussed the hugely important issue of special needs provision in Bromsgrove.

We've seen solid improvements in 2018, but we all agreed that there is certainly more to be done.
It was great to be out on Bromsgrove High Street at the start of the New Year.

I always appreciate the chance to catch up with residents, thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, and I hope you found some good local bargains in the sales!
It was a pleasure to speak at our local Barnt Green Branch supper last Friday.

Thank you to everyone for coming along, and for your continued hard work into 2019.
