Seniors (9th–12th grade): 25 points
Juniors (7th–8th grade): 20 points

🔍 What Counts as Sharing and Helping?

  • Giving a demonstration, talk, or presentation about your project

  • Exhibiting your project work at a fair or contest

  • Writing a news article or social media post about your project

  • Leading a project club, helping another 4-H’er, or teaching a class

  • Coordinating a community service project connected to your project area

  • Helping a younger student with their project work

📝 How to Write It:

Just like your Main Project Work, this section should be written in clear bullet points.
Be specific about what you did, when you did it, and who benefited.

Example for a Food and Nutrition project:

  • Gave a “Healthy Snacks” demonstration at my 4-H club meeting in February

  • Helped a classmate learn how to bake banana bread in April

  • Entered my granola bars in the County Fair in July and won 1st place

  • Helped lead a Cloverbuds cooking activity in August

Example for an Environmental Science project:

  • Created a recycling display for my school’s Earth Day fair in April

  • Helped my neighbors set up a compost bin in May

  • Led a group of 4-H’ers on a nature walk to talk about native plants in June

  • Wrote an article about water conservation for my school newsletter in August

If you know how much time it took, that information can be added as well. For example:

  • Gave a “Healthy Snacks” demonstration at my 4-H club meeting in February (2 hours)

For Seniors:
Make a list of every way you’ve shared your project knowledge or helped others in your project area since January. Write these out in bullet points and save a clean version for your portfolio.

For Juniors:
Write down at least three examples of how you have shared or helped in your project area. If you don’t have three yet, that’s ok. Make a plan for how you can add more before December, like giving a short demonstration or helping another 4-H’er.

Remember, it’s only September. You still have time to create more sharing and helping experiences before the year ends. Every time you teach, present, or lend a hand, you’re adding to your 4-H Portfolio. Keep it up!
