The court seized $300,000 hidden by Nasirov

On February 14, Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv held the regular hearing in the case against former tax administration chief Roman Nasirov. The panel of judges satisfied the appeal of SAPO prosecutor Andriy Perov regarding seizure of Nasirov’s $300,000, which are placed on his account in the bank of Great Britain. More details

Former MP Martynenko facilitated a company with Russian roots in winning tenders in Ukraine with the help of fake competitors

Czech company with Russian roots won tenders of the state enterprise Energoatom for the supply of equipment for nuclear power stations with the help of fake competitors. According to evidence presented by SAPO prosecutors in court, former MP Mykola Martynenko facilitated them. Payoffs were transferred to MP’s offshore accounts. More details

Lutsenko sent AntAC's appeal regarding Tymoshenko's possible illicit enrichment to SAPO

After the court refused to order NABU and SAPO to register a proceeding regarding possible illicit enrichment of Tymoshenko, AntAC addressed the Prosecutor General with the request to start the case. Lutsenko forwarded our appeal to SAPO once again. 
Updates on Ulana Suprun's case
On Suprun's suspension:
After spending four days in the chambers, on February 14 judge Karakashian of Kyiv District Administrative Court cancelled his previous ruling of February 5 regarding the suspension of Dr Suprun from office and allowed her to perform duties of the Healthcare Minister. More details
On the merits of Mosiychuk's lawsuit: 
On Friday, February 15, the court should have started an examination on the merits of the case. However, judge Karakashian has recused himself from the case. Earlier, Lyashko's Radical party MP Mosiychuk filed the lawsuit against Dr Suprun, claiming that she was unqualified and incapable to fulfil her duties.

On the criminal case against Dr Suprun:
In the meantime, Kyiv Pechersk District Court obligated the State Bureau of Investigation to initiate a criminal case regarding Dr Suprun for alleged interference in court proceedings.

Previously the Prosecutor General's Office refused to incriminate the same crime to Nazar Kholodnytsky, whose instructions to subordinates regarding interference in court proceedings were recorded on "aquarium tapes". Kholodnytsky was never brought to accountability for his actions, the case against him was closed by the SBU on December 29, 2018. 
On the draft parliamentary decree against Dr Suprun: 
The same MP Mosiychuk also filed a draft decree against Ulana Suprun to the Verkhovna Rada. What is interesting, doc properties of the accompanying explanatory note show it was prepared on the computer of Oleksandr Dolzhenkov. The latter is the Opposition Block MP from Akhmetov's group.

"Schemy: Corruption in Details" joint project of RFE/RL and UA:Pershyi interviewed expert Nadiya Bugrova. “I connect all these facts with revenge for my honest and professional activity. I was the forensic expert who performed expertise regarding “Avakov’s backpacks”,
said Nadiya Bugrova sitting on the hospital bed. Full text of the interview in English.

Next week the police plan to hand her an indictment for an alleged $180 fraud. She faces up to three years in prison. 
Presidential candidate Valentyn Nalyvaichenko supported anticorruption agenda
One more presidential candidate, former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaichenko also endorsed all demands of the anticorruption agenda. He put an accent on the necessity to implement a radical SBU reform to deprive it of untypical functions (fighting against corruption and economic crimes) and focus on counter-intelligence and anti-terrorism activists. Handziuk's case
 On February 11, Prosecutor General Lutsenko informed that the head of Kherson regional council Vladyslav Manger is suspected of organising the murder of Kateryna Handziuk.

The court hearing to choose a preventive measure for him lasted for more than three days. On February 15 early in the morning the court finally ruled to take him into custody for 17 days with the alternative bail amounting to 2,5 million UAH ($92,500). More details
 
The activists demand that all involved in Katya's murder should also be brought to accountability. Kateryna's father had named them. 

Late at night February 11, activists learned that a criminal case was forged against Roman Sinitsyn, one of the founders of the initiative "Who is behind the murder of Handziuk" for his Facebook post.

Roman asked his followers to help to identify those police officers, who attacked activists during the protests on February 9 near the police station.

Roman Sinitsyn is the activist, former volunteer, owner of the IT company, blogger, active participant of the Revolution of Dignity. In 2014-2016, together with like-minded people, he founded one of the largest volunteer initiatives to support the army Narodnyi Tyl.

Roman actively participated in the process of reforming the police in Ukraine. He has been working as a member of the certification commissions for six months. However, because of the disagreement with the course of this reform, together with other civil society representatives he withdrew from the process. Roman is known for his revealing publications about corruption in the law enforcement agencies.

 Activists of the initiative consider the case to 
be political pressure. We will keep you posted
