Join us on the 13th of October in our digital High-level Conference where we will launch the Exclusive REC / E3G Study #Renovate2Recover, assessing the transformational impact of the National Recovery and Resilience Plans (NRRPs) for buildings, hear from Ministry Representatives about the key aspects in their country’s plans and discuss with MEPs and Ministry Representatives on what needs to happen in the next decade to boost building renovation.
This year, to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Renovate Europe Campaign, we will, on the same day, hold a Social Event in Brussels together with friends and colleagues from 17:30 – 21:30 CET at Grand Central (Rue Belliard 190, 1040 Bruxelles – top floor). Please RSVP for the Social Event by the 6th of October.
You can register for both the online Conference and the Social Event at the link below.

The Study that will be launched assesses the buildings-related elements of NRRP’s in 18 Member States. The aim is to understand whether NRRPs position countries to achieve longer-term targets for more and deeper renovation, and whether NRRPs have the potential to be ‘transformational’ on the path to achieving national goals set out in Long Term Renovation Strategies and EU goals set out in the Renovation Wave strategy. The Study was developed by E3G, bringing its experience of working on the Green Recovery Tracker, and was delivered in close cooperation with Renovate Europe’s National Partners and Campaign Office.
However, an ambitious regulatory framework at EU-level is crucial to complement and drive action on the ground. Done right, NRRP funding can help to lay the foundations for strong agreement on, and effective implementation of, this framework which will be critical for delivering on renovation. New legislative proposals affecting buildings and renovation have already been tabled: these include a revision of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), and a new Emissions Trading Scheme for heating and transport fuels. Other key pieces of legislation including the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) will follow shortly.
