SAFEGUARDING THE MARA

Researchers are studying the Mara River to preserve its use for both humans and the world-famous wildlife that tourists from around the globe come to see. But conducting research here also means making sure the animals don't get too close for comfort.  


SWP BOOSTS STALLED EFFORT TO PROTECT EAST AFRICAN WATERWAYS

The Sustainable Water Partnership is helping protect the crucial Talek and Nyangores Rivers, which contribute water to East Africa’s life-giving Mara River Basin. Planning ahead for challenges will play a key role in the project's success. 


GENDER IN WASH: EMPOWERMENT BY NUMBERS 

Adaptation to water insecurity can create valuable opportunities to redress power imbalances between men and women. A Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) project is developing a new tool to identify those imbalances and formulate a way to measure success.
