State Senator Kathleen Bernier
Endorses Jessi Ebben for Congress


"I am honored to endorse Jessi Ebben to represent Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District. It is so apparent that we need a 'mover and a shaker' that won't just go along to get along. She is an independent-minded conservative that will not sit back during difficult times and just nod her head. She will push hard to help the people of her district and the state of Wisconsin," stated Bernier.

Kathleen "Kathy" Bernier is a current state senator, representing Wisconsin's 23rd State Senate District. 

Bernier is the first state-elected official to endorse a candidate in the race to represent Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District. The seat is currently held by 24-year Democrat incumbent, Congressman Ron Kind.

"It is an absolute honor to be endorsed by Senator Kathy Bernier. She works diligently and fights fiercely each day to represent her constituents, and I'm humbled by her confidence in me to bring her voice and all the voices of Wisconsin's Third District to Congress," said Ebben.

State Senator Kathy Bernier was elected to the Wisconsin State Senate in 2018. She previously served in the Wisconsin State Legislature, representing the 68th State Assembly District. Bernier was first elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2012, 2014 and 2016. Bernier previously served as the Chippewa County Clerk. She also previously served as chair of the Chippewa County Republican Party. Bernier has held other local leadership roles, including trustee for the Village of Lake Hallie, the liaison to the Clerk/Treasurer’s office, and as member of the Lake Hallie police commission and parks and recreation board.

She serves on the National Assembly of State Legislatures and sits on the board of the National Foundation for Women Legislators, currently serving as the state chairperson. Bernier is also a member of the Lake Hallie Optimists Club, Girl Scouts of the United States of America, ALEC, and is a Major in the Wisconsin Civil Air Patrol. 

Senator Bernier has received numerous awards, including Legislator of the Year from Wisconsin County Constitutional Officers, Outstanding Legislator Award from the Wisconsin Counties Association, and Working for Wisconsin Award from Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC). Bernier was named a Woman of Excellence by the National Foundation for Women Legislators and received the Legislative Excellence Award from the State Dairy Business Association.
